A few days ago, when I saw this, I looked up Directory of Sheffield 1787 - Gales & Martin & found where you can get a cd of the complete book. I got it & although I would love to have the book, this is the next best thing I suppose. Here's the link & what they have to say about the cd:

Zak has a hard copy of the book reprinted in the late 1800s and got it for pretty cheap. Apart from that there are more modern reprints of THAT one and then the CDs. Now the first one to get hold of the entire copy of Sketchley's 1774 directory in any form (that's not on microfilm in a library far away) will be our hero.

Thanks ScienceGuy. I looked at what Zak wrote & I see he has it. If I ever come across a copy & can get my hands on it, I will because I love to have the resources. I'll also keep my eyes open for the book you mentioned.
