Thread: Gottlieb Hammesfahr.

I picked up this Gottlieb Hammesfahr 6/8 a while back, doesn't seem to have a lot of wear on the blade, I know a little bit about this maker but not a whole lot. It was lost in the mail for about three weeks after I purchased it on Ebay so I'm lucky I got it at all (sigh). They seem kind of hard to find in fairly good condition.

They are excellent shaving razors. I've had 3 or 4 and been more than happy with each one.

I've heard that about these, I'll know real soon on this one, although my heart is in my old Sheffield razors I'm getting a growing interest in some these old German makers. Really cleaned up nice too.

I have one from my great uncle, around 4/8 (or a worn 5/8") that is stupidly thin and sharp and I got a 6/8" round point on Ebay a while back. Broke the scales recently, gotta send it out to get re scaled. One of my favorite razors so far.
