Just had a great shave with my Dovo, kept the blade angle very low, no spring in the razor and it was one of the very few shaves where the styptic pencil didn't need to be deployed.
This is a perfect example of the easy mistake that too many make here. More razors and more hones will not make you a better shaver or honer. Master one razor or hone before moving on to another. If you skip around among several, then you will never get the optimal performance out of any of your toys.

Simply put, this is not a credible source for anything.

Every razor should come with a copy of Shaving passes - Straight Razor Place Library - especially this picture here:

I have three of the four razors mentioned, TI Spartacus, Dovo Masters and a 7/8 Ralph Aust. I find the Dovo hones and shaves every bit as well as the others.

I think the razors should be freshly honed and stropped before comparing them to each other. I don't think I have ever had a problem with the steel, and all my razors shave well at slightly different angles. I try to maintain the same angle but once in a while I don't and I get to choose whether to use a pressure point or a turnecette stop the bleeding.
