Thanked: 2284Sway back Boker.
When I first saw this Boker sitting in the display case at an antique store, I could see the name Boker on the tang, as well as a very nice sway back profile along the length of the spine. I believe I spoke out loud to myself and said, " what the.....?" as my interest peeked on the razor. When I first opened the razor I initially thought that it had been over honed on the heel, but then came to the realization that the hone wear was even across the length of the spine, and the heel was actually still in perfect condition. I noticed that the depth of the blade at the toe was much bigger than at the heel and also had a double belly hollow grind which was also even across the length of the blade. When I got the blade home I decided this unique blade needed some fancy schmanzy scales, and I had just the pair. A set that Tom had given me that worked out to be perfect for the this blade. I didn't do too much sanding or polishing on this blade, call me lazy, I got rid of the rust and tarnish.
For all I know there may be numerous Bokers like this one out there, but I haven't seen them. Anyone seen a Boker like this before??

Nothing important to add. I like the look of the blade though. Did you just pick this up recently? Your wife must really love you to let you spend a lot on razors.
My razor budget is non-existant...
No I've never seen a boker like this before. Usually the generic modern round point or a beautiful vintage spike point..(can you tell which one I've got?)
Have you honed it yet?

Thanked: 2284No my wife doesn't know about this one because I paid cash for it.
This is one I picked up after our mini meet Scott. An Antique store called Courtland Antiques.
I just got it honed and it was one of the easier razors I've done...... thank god! The last 4 previous I've done have been nightmares to hone. I just wanna huck em at the wall sometimes.....Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

I'm glad it honed up easily, I hit honing rock bottom a few weeks ago and it's been a slow climb. Damn synthetics. Sold em and back to what I started with. Well have to get another meet going, I want to use your real thick backed coticule. That thing is dope to hold.
Enjoy the Boker!

Thanked: 4827They would be a good model for carving a set though. Getting the layout right is paramount. Even though they are plastic they are still nice.
