Thanked: 1I have both. I would highly recommend the Aust over the Dovo. Aust gives a far more comfortable shave

I also have both and for your first razor could not think of any I would recommend more than an Aust. My first was their 5/8 and it is just a great little razor that is very easy to refresh and constantly gives great shaves.

I started with a Dovo, and now have both. I prefer the Aust, but if you get one that is truly shave ready either will be great!

Even though the OP went for an Aust here is my humble opinion.
The Dovo fans are where...? I don't know but my vote is for Dovo Best Quality. Purely for the fact they are work horses, , nothing fancy but when I pick up my Dovo I know I'm in for a great shave.
I don't know squat about the grind quality, mine is awesome. The finish is nice, nothing fancy but it's a tool not a display case piece. I do know it hones up easily and cleans whiskers like a champion not to mention it holds an edge extremely well. A nice coticule edge on a Dovo 6/8 for me is tops.Last edited by s0litarys0ldier; 11-27-2015 at 05:10 AM.

Same here. I have a TI that is a Blades Grim & Grim Blades is one of the brands that it says on here (razors to avoid) not to buy but the TI is an excellent razor. I just didn't know it at the time that they have crappy razors except for the TI. The rest of them are junk & I guess they decided to get a good brand among their selection of junk razors. I put it in the SOTD once & although many people liked it, some didn't because of their name I guess but it was the first retail straight I bought when I first started & is a 7/8 but is a very smooth shaver!
