Default New to me C-Mon Wedge

Picked this one up on everybody's favorite auction site...got it for a seemingly great price. The scales are a translucent green with a little bit of aesthetic damage, but none critical to their function. The blade itself is pretty hefty for its 5/8/ size. I would of course be reluctant to actually call it a wedge but 1/4 hollow seems much more fitting. It is also my first C-Mon...finding them affordably is a bit of a challenge but this seems to be a less popular or desired model, so it was a pretty good score!

C-MON made or rather sold some very nice razors. I have had a few pass through my hands but not a wedge. It should be right up there with the best of them

Shaved extremely nicely! I just gave it a few passes on pasted balsa (perfect bevel from the seller) and a bit of leather....super smooth shave and it has a nice heft for a 5/8. Nice and tight in the scales as well. A winner for sure!

I've got two of these, one restored and shave ready and one I had to buy because I loved the first so much. I would call the grind a "modern wedge" as they became a little less wedgy (compared to old Sheffields). Probably partially due to the size, most of the modern wedges I have: C-Mon, Adoration Axe, Beau Brummel... are at very most 5/8, closer to 9/16th.

I agree with you though, it seems as though the cheap feeling green scales and otherwise lack of adornment when compared to a blackie or cadillac make this model severely under priced for the quality. Great find!

*edit - I had to go look at mine, and while the location stamped on the backside of both says Ellicottville, N.Y. the scales of one look identical to yours (green plastic, 3 pin, "wedge" inscription in yellow). I think the move to Allegheny came
