    Default Leopard razor USA..opinions?

I see some really cool looking blacked out razors by leopard razor USA. I like the black blade look as it's different from the norm. I know it will probably get worn off or scratched but still cool. Anyone use any of these? Thoughts on the company? For $40 bucks it's saying it shave ready.. Seems decent price wise. Any info would be appreciated.

I don't even have to look at it. $40 and shave ready? Blacked out. I'd save your money for something worth while. Lots of crap showing up trying to cash in on new wet shavers...

15 minutes on GOOGLE & I'm still not sure about who the manufacturer is,,,, that's clue # 1.

I looked at several photos & I hope that no one gifts me one of these razors, because I simply would not know what to do with it. My tackle box is full & I hardly go fishing anymore.

Every entrepreneur is aware of the popularity of straight razors now,, many with no background in razor manufacturing, history or even the day to day use, are trying to cash in. This has flooded the market with "Razor Shaped Objects" , basically garbage.

In a way I'm happy about this; because this keeps the less dedicated pioneers of straight shaving away from the vintage razors to be had. Also the less dedicated will buy good brand name hones to maintain their R.S.O.'s ,,, these hones then end up for sale on the open market at a much discounted price,,, I love a good hone at a great price!

I tried that route in the beginning and was quickly disappointed. Major razor burn and nicks. Almost abandoned straights.

Then I found this forum and the last two years have been a dream come true. I now shave with my dear beloved family heirloom, which fueled desire of SR shaving.

After lots of reading and studying here on the forum I then spent a little more money and bought a new readily recognized razor and had it made "shave ready". The difference is night and day trust me and I have been moving forward ever since.

I am surprised this fellow survived his shave given the razor (Leopard) and his scraping technique with it .

Nice slice he has in his strop! And he uses the highly secret "ting" test for sharpness...obviously he is highly experienced.

You gots to be kidding, big cut in strop, you'll roll the edge if you do more than a few passes on a stop and over strop the edge and a horrendous angle on the blade. Did I mention twanging a supposedly shave ready edge with your thumb. Each to their own I guess.

Yea, make a cool enough looking object cheap enough and it is bound to dazzle someone. There is a reason reputable manufacturers of straight razors make their razors the way they do, ie look like razors, and cost more to buy. I'd save my money and get a new Boker, TI or Ralf Aust , to name a few, and get a better start on things.

Well I'm glad I asked. I knew I wasn't going to expect the best but seems like I was on the right track before I saw this one. Still looking at a few older classics and just got a shave ready from whipped dog. I may be new and not that knowledgeable but with a little research and the help of you guys I won't be led too far off path
