Thanked: 21crown and sword?
Picked up this razor today for $15.00. I hit it up with some MAAS and put a little shine back on it.
The scales drew my attention with what appears to be the crown and sword logo. However, the blade is marked "Hollow Ground Germany", and "Non Plus Ultra" on the shank. Seems like quality steel, but I wouldn't pay asking price without the Crown and Sword stamp on the razor itself.
I'm wondering if this is a knock-off of sorts? Perhaps a common German blade that was pinned on Crown and Sword scales? Or is it an original Crown and Sword Razor? Not a crown and sword at all?
Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
Jeff

Thanked: 4828Looking at the picture all I can say for sure is it is crown and sword scales. I cannot see the mark well enough and it may have a mark on the other side. At this point it is likely that the blade and scales are mismatched. The blade looks ok though. Once you get a shave in you will know more.

FWIW my Crown and Sword has the logo on the scales, as well as Crown and Sword engraved on the blade and the tang. Syays Crown and Sword on tang front and ERN on the tang rear.

I think the blade is made by someone else and has been fitted in Crown and Sword scales.

Agree with the others - Frankenrazor - but it should be a great shaver...

Thanked: 21I e scoured the Internet for non plus ultra. Not much comes up. But there was a similar inquiry here on SRP previously. Regarding non plus ultra and crown and sword razors. The blade and scales may not be mismatched...hard to say.
