Tuckaway?
Gents,
I did my best to research this but no luck. Can you guys tell me if this is a correct set? As in, it all belongs together? I keep have discrepancies with the handle and box (TUCKAWAY vs Somerset vs deluxe norfolk). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanked: 3227One thing for sure and that is those old Gillette OCs can really give a close shave. Hope you give it a spin or two.

Thanked: 3215Pretty Shure you have a Big Fellow or Big Boy in a Tuckaway case. Yours looks like The New Big Boy/ Big Fellow variant, with the short, one piece handle, from about 1929. The box would have been more of a rectangle with horizontal ridges on the top. See first photo, though the razor is an earlier Big Fellow, 1921.
The second photo shows the Big Fellow/ Big Boys, yours would be the 1929 variant on the right.
The Tuckaways had the fancy handles with diagonal, diamond knurling on. The British version is a little different as well on the knurling pattern. Shown in the third photo.
Those are quickly becoming very popular, as they are great shavers as said. I expect prices to reflect that soon as the recent increase of Slims and Fatboys. They are now being knocked off and the new ones are pricy. I expect the cases will also become very collectable as well.
The gold is very thin and coated with lacquer. So do be careful cleaning with polish, you can easily remove it.
I have a few in gold, but do not shave with them and shave with the nickel or chrome versions. They can still be picked up at very reasonable prices in Chrome or Nickel.
Recently picked up a lot of 26 double edge for a song, including a fat boy and several slims. I have only recently been collecting the 3 pieces so I may be wrong, surprisingly there is not a lot of good information on the 3 pieces.

Marty thank you for sharing that info. I am super excited to give it a shave or 2 but after that I will probably put it up just to look at.
