Default De Fi 34 / Wester Bros

My father in law ( he is 87 yrs old) gave me his father's straight razor. I cleaned it up a little. Looks pretty good. Can someone tell about it?

    thanks!

Wester Brothers was a New York based company that imported razor, knives, medical tools and a few other items that were made by Wester and Butz in Solingen Germany. The company was founded in 1891 as Jacoby and Wester and became Wester Brothers (named for Charles and Max Wester)in 1904. They also sold razors under the name Wester & Stone for a brief period during WW1. They made excellent razors with thin hollow grinds and they are one of my favorite brands. They stayed in business until 1967.

yours is a "De-Fi" and looks to be in pretty good condition. It's got some hone wear but should clean up well and provide many more years of service.
