I've only got a couple of the old ones. They have 'Made In Solingen Germany' on the reverse tang, and the Reg. with a number on the monkey tail. I suspect yours is the older one. Mine also has the white scales with the Bismarck logo inlaid. Great shavers the old ones.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    It's defiantly pre dovo. 1910-193x.

Features that put it in this period are.

Original scale inlays, Dovo period do not have registered inlays, they have Bismark solignen inlays.

Original tang grind. With that chamfer running all the way under the Bismarck stamp.

The shape is correct for the period.

It looks to have a monkey tail stamp on the images.

The reverse stamp is the odd part. I've never seen that stamp. We have had speculation about the owners name but it's always been in contention as to it been August, or Authur Muller, Or both. Different sources for the same time period have both names in use.

Early Bismarks like yours are really good shavers. Get an edge on it and give it a whirl!

Like I said the reverse stamp is not common at all. I regularly look for these razors from all era's and I have never seen another with that stamp.

It could well be a Stamp that broke or one that August didn't think looked right and stopped using. Either way it's a bit more special because of it.
