Second to Mastro Livi I really like the Aust's. Got 2 6/8 and have been debating getting this one. Have another Mastro Livi on the way but would really like to get this one for the 7 day rotation. Might have to move some others for this one.

Actually no. I have 3 Austs including the SRD and the first two needed some minor work. Of course I'm really particular about my edges and those two didn't take much. The SRD razor was far from shave ready. Of course I could have sent it back and it would have been taken care of but I just honed it myself. it was straight forward.

All in all they are very nice razors and once dialed in shave very nice.

And you must be. A friend of mine has a shop over here, and has sold hundreds of Aust razors - without a single complaint. But I've said it before, standards in the US are different, just like high grit synthetics are virtually unknown over here. All the Aust razors I personally tried were flawless, and en par with anything I have ever received by a so called honemeister. But yes, YMMV

First I really like the Aust razors. I do agree with Lynn that the worked spine takes getting used to when honing, stropping and shaving. Both my razors have this. I would prefer a razor without it. Would I purchase this razor, absolutely and I probably will in the near future. Do Aust razors come shave ready, mine have. I have given them a touch up on my Eschers after months of use.
