Thanked: 45Visit to PRC and a little present for myself (belated birthday)....
I am in Portland this week for business, and thought since I was here, I might email the fine gentlemen at PRC to see if they would humor me and let me swing by. Fortunately Scott and Hunter were around and gave the the tour of PRC and showed me a few works in progress. It really is an interesting operation and there are certainly a lot of moving parts when it comes to crafting a razor from a blank to a finished product. One can tell, from start to finish, that they really are passionate about each and every razor that leaves their capable hands. Sorry about no pics of the shop...I figured they represent themselves on their website and on Instagram better than I ever could with my iPhone. On that note....
There was a custom on their website I had been eyeballing and thought....if it hadn't sold yet, and if I just so happened to be there.....why not! SOOOOOOO....a one-off smiling custom from PRC in glass/clear acrylic scales. No branding....just shiny smiling goodness with a superb hand feel and edge!

Congratulations! I'm eagerly awaiting two of their razors myself, a Phenix as a self-gift for Christmas and a Western Kamisori as a Valentines Day gift from my fiance'. I'd looked at that custom several times on the website, but with two of their razors already en route to me I couldn't talk myself into buying it as well. Congratulations on your beautiful razor and enjoy many great shaves!

Thanked: 171Going by the title of your post, I thought you were heading to the PRC (the common abbreviation for the People's Republic of China) and decided to pick up a straight razor there, which would quite literally have been "not much to write home about".
