Default US Cutlery? Does anyone know anything about this razor?

This was my great grandfathers razor. He might have gotten it in the military. I can't find any information on US Cutlery in Chicago. Would it be worth it refinishing this razor? Does anyone know anything about this razor?

Sorry guys I already posted this 5 years ago. I got really good advice and replies. Does anyone know what this would be worth?

We aren't in the business of giving appraisals (not allowed on forum) but I will tell you that it will clean up well and take a great edge. You might try eBay and see what others have sold the same razor for as a starting point.

No worries brother. It looks to me like it could be sent to someone to hone as is. Wipe it off, send it to a pro to get it honed and try using it.

The true value in that razor is that it is an heirloom. None of them are anything you should worry about putting a special insurance rider on you homeowners policy for. They are rare, because there is only one way to get an heirloom razor.
