Thanked: 0Durham Duplex Razor Co.
Hello all!
I have been doing some early spring cleaning and came across this item. I need some help figuring out what exactly it is. It was found in an old Durham Duplex Razor Company case, and I cannot find anything about it online.
Thanks!

I would imagine it's a holder for the old DE and SE blades so as to be able to hone and/or strop with ease. Popular before the blades became coated.

I have a one of slightly different design called the Wizard with a patent date of 1924. Would imagine from early 20th century through most of the depression or mid 40's. Then Gillette got "creative" and screwed it all up.

Durham Duplex started out in New Jersey in 1908. They moved to Connecticut in 1935 and were there until 1963 when Weck bought them out, but kept the name. The Connecticut was closed in 1979.
Since your case says New York on it, it was made during the Weck years 1963 to 1979. I think the red case was during the 1970s.
The case is for the Durham Duplex shavette and is not for whatever that is.
