    Default Pearl King

Good day good people. I have got a sr with Pearl King etched on the blade and tang, but the makers mark has rubbed off, any idea who made this? Also, as you may be able to see from the pic's, it's in pretty poor shape, can it be brought back to it's former glory?
Also pic's of another sr with no makers stamp. It looks in pretty good shape and should clean up well, just thought I'd show you the second for fun!
Any input from your vast knowledge would be much appreciated
    Thanks, Garry

Here's a Pearl King I have that was sold by International Cutlery Co. Its a Solingen blade. Looks like a different Pearl King than yours. Do a search here for Pearl King and you'll find some additional info but maybe not for the one you have.

The first razor was made by Paul Kohl, Fischerwerk, Stahlwarenfabrik. Located Solingen-Foche, Schlagbaumer Strasse, 172-4 in 1939.
The company was founded in 1908, registered 3 Dec 1920.
Trademarks: "Fischer", "King Fisher", "Fischerwerk Solingen", "Pearl King", "Pescador".

Thanks PAULBUCK. I have done a search on here and they all look similar to yours, but thanks for the photo, that's a neat razor!

Thanks for the info MANNA, that was just what I was looking for
I can vaguely make out the fisherman logo on the tang.
As you can see, it has uneven hone wear and a badly tarnished blade all over the etching. Do you think it could be recovered at all?
    Thanks for the help

Although I can't find what I read, I believe the PearlKing to be of Mr. Perlson's design . Mr. Perlson ,in case you didn't know became president of Dubl Duck in 1947- 1952. He was vice president before that time. I believe he had a small company of is own before that or at least sold some of his own design through International cutlery. This I can not confirm but looks to be true. I have 2 of those razors each with different addresses on them. I'll see if I can dig up more :<0)

They also originally had a green hue behind the inlay witch you can barely see here. Susceptible to cell rot so keep an eye on it.

On the other hand what I have read could be all wrong :<0)

Tenpups, thanks for your reply. I believe MANNAH has answered the question of maker and if what you say is correct, then that adds more to the story. I would say ,however, that my razor seems completely different from any other "Pearl King" that I can find on the data base here and elsewhere, very curious
    Thanks again for the info.

    Default Pear King update

It seems that the second razor, the "guarantie solingen" was made by N.WEINER but the date is uncertain

Think I read, on here, that the Jamaica address was also the address for Dubl Duck. I've got the Garden City.
A really nimble, well balanced blade that I like a lot.
