A source for NOS straight razors?
A lot the times it's the luck of the draw.
I don't think there are too many vendors that are selling many vintage NOS SRs.
They are around....you got to dig deep and sometimes they can be found. Is there a reason you seek these? Most are not cheap. There are a lot of nicely used ones out there too.
Good luck!Is it over there or over yonder?

Thanked: 1I am interested in NOS SR due to the quality of the vintage pieces. My struggle come into play with my wife, who is a nurse, that has issues with me attaining SR are "used". No matter how I try to explain that they are sanitized and safe she still has issues with it. That is why I am looking for NOS SR as that way I could attain the quality and character of a nice vintage piece and make the wife happy at the same time.
Thanks, Brandon

NOS anything is a good idea..... I am guessin you and your wife also use utensils. They are metal and they are "washed". Even at home they are not 100 sanitized. There are some great products out there to kill 99 of germs. And besides..... Who's using the straight razors any ways? If a used vintage razor that has been sanitized doesn't bother you..... Then use those.
Another route you can go is send the razors to a pro and have them restored..... They look good as new. And would she know the difference? Is it over there or over yonder?

I'll tell you one thing mate, there aren't any of them in this country! NOS is an ebay only job for Australians. In 5 or 6 years of combing antique shops and flea markets I haven't seen one in the wild.
BTW, there's a guy in Japan - whose shop features prominently on ebay - who has a lot of Solingen razors in apparently excellent condition. However, he never uses the term "NOS" and, with occasional exceptions, classifies his wares as "used" - within the meaning used on that site.Last edited by Maladroit; 03-02-2016 at 09:03 PM.
