Favorite Hand Made Modern Razor
I noticed there is a lot of small businesses producing straight razors, mostly in the US. Among them are Nate's Straights, Scottish Razor Co, Portland Razor Co, Hart Steel, etc. Hart steel is obviously a lot more readily available where as the others you most likely have to wait anywhere from 1 to 3 months for it to be made. It seems most of these razors come in 1/4 hollow ground so they are comparable. Was hoping to get some feedback on some of these razors in terms of quality and performance and if you own more than 1 to compare them. I was trying to get some pricing but I was having trouble on some of these websites. Hart's sell for roughly $280 and Scottish Razor Co sells for roughly $180 give or take. If anyone knows a ballpark price for Nate's Straights or Scottish Razor Co that would be very helpful. It's great to see all the customization that can be done and at a reasonable price. Are there any similar straight razor makers that I'm missing?

Nate is Tim Zowada,s son , if he's any thing close to his dad they will be a good quality razor, some of the other artisanal razors have in my opinion to many grind and quality issues. Spend a little more and pick up a razor from some of the custom makers and get a great quality razor,, never ever forget we also have Brian Brown who offers a limited production razor with Brian's great grinding and craftsmanship, others may not agree, but others have bought the cheap ones and don't want the say what's wrong or they don't know yet,, my experience comes from having a razor collection that is 11 customs from some of the best and now down to only 4 vintage blades, and some customs I've sold cause they weren't in the class of the makers that I now have,, but I would rather have a vintage that was ground and heat treated right than a "custom, production" that was just pretty looking.
