    Default New to me Razor

Well a round about sale finaly came to a close today I couldn't be happier.

I first bought a DD Dwarf blade off "X". X sends it to Bill Ellis after all three of us (three??) contact each other for the work to be done on the blade. All is going well... Till the post office gets their mits on the package... The package takes a tour of California and finaly lands at Bills shop. Alas after a long "party" with the post office the blade is in bad shape, a large chip about 1/2" long down the blade /cry... To say the lease I was bummed that my new blade had more fun than it could handle. Bill Ellis lets me know as soon as it arrived what condition it was in and what it would take to make this blade serviceable /eeks!! Sooooo... He offers an alternative, he'll set me up with a respectable razor for the amount we already discused so I would at least get a razor out of this situation. Well from checking out his site and from what I have read here I was all kinds of ready to accept the offer.

That was Monday if I remember right, I get an email stating that my package was shipped the next day. To my amazement it was in the mailbox today. Till this point I didn't know at all what was in the box. HAHA I let him know what styles I liked (seems I like expensive stuff ) and let him pick what he thought I would like. Well when I opened the box apart from having the Dwarf in the box was a razor that looked fantastic. Ironicly it is also one of the razors I have had on my list to get someday So I'm now doubly stoked... What was in the box??? A very clean (and sharp I may add) Gold Bug with clear yellow scales (Pic's comming). Well after I got home from my Wednesday evening cooking event at my wifes church, I jumped in the shower and got ready to shave. I put the Bug to my strop for 5 strokes just to touch it up. I got out another sample of Colleen's soap, Gentalmens Oak & Moss (very nice lather by the way), and got down to shaving. Yup I really like it now . Smooth and not a single nick (See no cutting my self) I was also paying very close attention to how the edge was cutting as I wanted to see how my honing and stroping was comming along. This being my first Pro honed edge. I would say I'm doing well but still need some work, but I'm glad I'm not that far off the mark, I must be doing it right after all .

Just from this one experience I will be doing more orders from Bill in the future, I can't say enough at this time. All in All I have had a great experience dealing with both X and Bill Ellis, thanks guys for making my first "Forum" deal work out so well, even if it didn't go according to plan

These are great razors--I've honed two of them. This one sure is purdy--good work, Bill, as usual.
