    Default Perfect bevels?

I have been trying to make my own razor and it has lead me to much appreciation of what it takes to make one.

I see many posts about my production razor that is not perfect....
Try making your own and see how perfect the grind must be.

I am not trying to excuse mistakes/errors but try making one yourself and then you understand!

I look at the work of some of the makers and can't help but think of how hard it must be to keep everything straight, and some of them are doing all their grinding freehand, which just adds to the complexity from my perspective. I would like to give it a shot at some point down the road. I have a lot to understand before then. Once you have the grinding part figured out there is the metallurgy and heat treat to get your head around too. There is a lot to it and not all of it is hands on stuff. Very often I appreciate these things, especially when I am honing.
    Substance and Willisf like this.
