    Default Rocnel SE razor

I finally got my Rocnel SE RAZOR in the mail. It is a beautiful stainless steel razor that uses half de blades. You have the choice between the knurled handle or smooth handle. I chose the smooth handle resulting in a unique look.

Man is this thing heavy...130 grams. It makes my Merkur HD feel like a feather. The Rocnel is also more aggressive than the Merkur HD, for comparison.

When I shaved with this razor I felt like Thor raising his hammer...it's crazy heavy. Too heavy for a razor and built more like a weapon. Maybe over time it will feel better. When I initially pulled it out of its case I dropped it on the floor. This thing is a tank!

Overall, it shaves very well. This $25 (USD) razor ended up costing $77.68 Canadian. So it is not as big of a deal as I originally thought. I have mixed feeling about this razor. It is beautiful to look at and shave well but is way to heavy. This is likely the last SE/DE razor I will buy as my collection is getting out of control. I'm also becoming more interested in purchasing another straight razor instead.

If you are in the mood to feel like a Viking yielding a heavy weapon this razor is for you, otherwise there are so many other razors out there to purchase.

I'd love to post pics but I'm struggling to figure out how to post them. If there is an easy way to do this let me know.

Had a look at them, quite nice. The DE is $295 where as the SE is $25. How long did it take to arrive?

To post a photo, 3rd option from the right when you reply. Hover over it and you will see "insert image". Would be interesting to see how you load the blade in the SE.

If you are on a computer, when you reply to thread there are options to change font etc. in the box you are typing in. 3rd from the right allows you to insert image from computer. Looks like a little picture frame.
