Default I couldn't pass this up.

I bought this one because I loved the looks of it. I'm planning on having it honed and using it. I don't think I will do any restoration other than a careful cleaning of the spine and tang.

Would be interesting to know the age of them, being stub tails. Love the scales on your one Mrchick, would look great with a nice shiny bevel and nothing more.

Thanks. I've heard 1830-1850. I'm still researching. I agree. Rust removal and a bevel will be it.

This razor design was patented in 1850 by Wostenholm. If you look closely at the diamond shaped stamp on the tang it gives the patent date.

That is cool. Love the scales, I think a bit of neatsfoot massaged in would brighten them up without hurting the gold, but I'd check first, or just test a small spot.
