My "new" Torrey
The mailman brought my new Torrey ebay buy today. I took it to the stones and cleaned it up a little - it didn't need much. Gave it a test shave just a few minutes ago and it is now in my regular rotation. It is a 5/8 French point, my first of that style and it is not nearly as scary as it looks. The faux mother-of-pearl scales seem to have yellowed but the M-O-P covering on the tang has not. Strange. I am really happy with this razor with its clever "snap" blade closure.

I had the same razor. It's a great shaver and a great looker once it's cleaned up.

The "snap" scales are a Torrey feature. They do not come around that often. You are fortunate!

PS. Keep an eye on those scales! They may be deteriorating. Can't really tell from the photo and the patterns of the scale surface.Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
