Razor Storage
Currently I store my razors (monthly rotation) in several glass jars and in their own individual jackets. I have about 3 jars with about 6 razors in each.
The jars are placed in a room that is under air, since I live in sunny FLA, the air is on most of the year. After each use the razors are stroped and a light coat of blade oil is applied to them. After that air dried for several hrs. before going into the Jacket and jar (of course the jars are not closed).
I am curious if anyone else does the same? Also, any comments anyone has regarding the pros and cons of this storage system would be most appreciated.

This is my storage. They need air circulation to keep them dry. I do not use oil, or cases

I don't live in Florida but do live in the mountains of East Tennessee and during the summer months our air is very humid. For the past 5 years I have stored some of my razors on racks on the bedroom wall and some in a roll up pouch in my dresser drawer. I don't use any oil on them and so far have not had any rust problems.
In the first year of str8 razor shaving I learned not to store them in the bathroom after the three I had at the time developed rust."If You Knew Half of What I Forgot You Would Be An Idiot" - by DoughBoy68

I also live in TN. I store mine in the gun safe. I make sure there dry then cover them in SRD razor oil and those not used in a few months i coat in R. I. G. grease then wrap in wax paper then in the coffin then in tubberware container then in the safe. This may sound extreme but it has taken a while to get the ones i like and i want them safe. Also i over do most things.

Well after use I wash the razor(s) off; then dry; then strop or what is needed; then apply a light coating of Ballistol; then into their respective leather cases; then into the top drawer in my bathroom in next rotation for the next shave. Nothing special and mine are all carbon minus the newly acquired Henckels and never a issue.

My Storage options are
a large wood box for current rotation and favourites
A Knife roll for those needing touch ups etc
Then the rest that are in need or restore etc are in Plano type fishing tackle boxes in the shed waiting their turn on the benchSaved,
to shave another day.

Moisture is the worst enemy of a razor. The vast majority of rust is caused by people not properly drying their razors after use. A humid environment will have some effect but no where near as much as people who aren't careful drying their razors after use.

After use, I thoroughly dry my razors with a towel, followed by tissue paper. I strop 10 laps, leave in the open for an hour, then place back in the coffin box. I always store my razors in a bedroom cupboard, never in the bathroom.
