How does one "thin the herd"
So, how do you go about it? I've got 50+ and looking to trim it down to 30, that's what my case holds. The rest of them are either unrestored, half restored or were once usable but been neglected in favor of others.
I don't want to blow up the classifieds with 20+ razors, yet it seems that I also can't do a single ad with multiple sales in them. I'd like for them to go to users here, new and old, but I also don't really want to spend a lot of effort on them getting them "shave ready". My shave ready may differ from the buyer(s).
Another thing is I'm not up on the market as I used to be, so I'm not sure if my pricing would be right and it seems that I can't put them up as "best offer".
Any advice on how to "thin the herd" would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kilowattkid

Check the sold section on eBay to see what similar are going for these days. Yes it can be tedious to list each separately , maybe in groups of three or four. See no reason you can't say they aren't shave ready if you state that you hone for your preference and it might not be the buyers preferred edge.

Thanked: 351I have a fair amount of stuff I have to sell.... rather than have the Mrs. put it on the garage sale table for $1 each after I'm gone, only to have someone say "I'll give you 50 cents for it".
My solution so far has been to say.... After I'm gone, I won't care!
I sold a Norton hone I almost never used months ago, and I'm still hurting from the ordeal......<sigh>
All I can do, is wish you good luck figuring it out.
Regards

Thanked: 3215I would go through your razors and separate the ones you absolutely do not want to sell, maybe rate them in order of keepers. Then keep culling the group, until you get to the number you really want to keep.
List the 2 least desirable razors and wait for them to sell, then list 2 more. Yea, it could take a year, but then it probably took you a lot longer to collect them.
If you list a massive group, it could turn into a fulltime job, tracking, packing and shipping a lot of razors at a time. Use EBay “Sold” prices as a guide, but only as a guide, EBay prices can vary from day to day and something as simple as the quality of the photos.
You could list them in groups, but expect a lower selling price.
I have thought about doing the same, but my numbers are in the hundreds. I decided to build a better storage system… to make more room…
Pretty much like any large project, break it up into manageable bites, really what is the hurry.
