Looks like the standard Dovo economy box.

Do you have the box? Where did you get it? What came in it? I agree it looks like Dovo's color scheme and labeling but more info may help.

I think Dr. Balfanz was a corroboration of Dovo for the export market to Japan. I could be wrong on that but I believe a I read that somewhere. That said, I bought a good Dr. a few weeks ago and it is a excellent shaver to say the least.

Here is some more research I found about this razor:
"The “Dr. Belfanz” brand is a tribute to historian Dr. Dietrich Balfanz, who is an expert on Solingen. He wrote a well-regarded German book in 1983 about the history of Solingen — City of Blades — and its steel industry. The blade is identical to the Dovo Rennaisance and it’s widely believed by collectors that it’s the very same razor, but re-branded for the Japanese market."German blade snob!

I had read some thought this was made by Dovo. But this answers THAT question! Thanks, guys!
I have recently acquired one and it shaves nicely. Never had my hands on a Dovo Renaissance, But they do look the exact same profile.
Shaves nicer than any other Dovo I have tried, though. I will admit.

They seem to be of old vintage quality as they say for sure. I say to anyone that can pick one up to get one. They are truly great shavers and are stainless too I believe. Mine did not come with a box but has "inox" on the scales.
You will see alot of these on Ebay from Japan. Hence I guess the truth to the export theory by Dovo to Japan.German blade snob!
