Thanked: 39Where to find list of Tang stamps for Razors?
I was at a Gun how yesterday and picked a nice (Well O.K.) shape Henry Sears & Sons "Queen" 5/8ths. The blade looks have been shortened by about 3/8ths. It has the 1865 stamp but I am finding it hard to read the stamping underneath it, so for, all I can read is the last few letters that appear to be "ASTUMPERS." The case looks like those black ornate ones except mine id a reddish brown with the "Queen" Embossed on one side. I know pics but my camera does nor take good close ups. Thanks everybody.

You can find a list of books including ones specialising in maker's marks here: Bibliography on Straights, Shaving and Razor-related History - Straight Razor Place Library

Thanked: 39That didn't help, I would like to find a web sight that would tell me something like this "Henry Sears & Sons" (first line") 1865 Second line, then the third line " Made in Kansans. Mo." Mine also has the numbers 770 on the other side.

Thanked: 3795Well, when you set up such a site, then there will be one. As far as I know, the books are the best bet.

15 seconds on Google revealed this:
HENRY SEARS & SON
“Queen 5/8” Razor
Chicago, Illinois Made in Germany
ca. 1865 - 1897
and
Since 1897, this trademark was used by Farwell-Ozmun-Kirk, St.Paul Minn.
I am sure there is more if you spend some quality time with Google.

Thanked: 39I was able to get a good look at mine from another razor that has the same markings, All in all it Just says "Manufactured" I guess all those years of opening it and closing had really mangled up the stamping. Thanks anyway guys.
