    Default Brooke's & Crookes, & AIC

    Hello,

New to straight razor shaving, and just picked up a couple of antiques locally. One is a Brooke's & Crooks from England, and has etching on the spine with a floral pattern and what looks like the word "Saturday", and the other is an Allegany Instrument Corp from New York. Anyone know the general age / quality of these razors?

I have searched locally to try to find someone to hone them and get them shave ready, but no luck yet. Any suggestions of where I could send them off to get that done?

Here is a good place to start. I am certain there are other members in your state.

Thanks, I just purchased the knife sharpening service and will send them off to get it done. Figure that might be faster than trying to find someone locally.

Sometimes island life leaves us sending stuff back and forth. It is part of the price we pay for living in paradise.

From what I can see from the pictures, on my phone, they look to have minimal wear. Best of luck and welcome to the fold. It would be a good idea to look into buying a strop.
