Thanked: 104Hart Steel razors.
Evening folks,
I was interested in the opinion of members on the Hart Steel straight razors. I'm in Australia, and a local company stocked them. I bought one, a 7/8 , and after a dozen strokes on the Suehiro 20k and shaves were heaven. So much so that I bought two more, I like heavier razors so luckily I was able to get them very cheaply. That was eight months ago and I love the shaves I get from them, I know that Classic Shaving in the US has taken over the operation of the company. Whilst I remain thrilled with my Harts, I'd be interested in the future of the series, which are, a custom razor. Will they continue operation as a customised manufacturer? Or are they done?
Cheers Bob

I like my Hart. Many do not. They take a nice edge. I am also very happy with my razor from Portland Razor Company. It is also a heavy grind and unlike my Hart, it did come shave ready.

Classic Shave was always involved in Hart from day one. I don't know if their involvement has changed or not.
I have one and it's a quality shaver and pretty much from day one the complaint has been that it's a plain jane quality razor overpriced for what you get and I'd agree with that assessment. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 104An Australian razor/shaving proprietor, (Shaver Hut) has as of this morning a 7/8 hart round point, for $189 AUD. For the US guys it's less than $150 bucks. They may be 'Plain Jane', but their construct is exceptional, if you have a look out of the box, under magnifiction, the hand honing evidence is clear, and with a few swipes on your finisher, they won't give up for many dozens of shaves. I notice on the Classic shaving site, they are priced a lot higher than this mob at Shaver hut. My 3 were from them and I never paid over $210.00, I just enjoy the shave I get from them.

I've had great luck with them and have three in my current 10 razor rotation.
Two 7/8 SP, one satin one polished and a 6/8 Baxter of California "Not a replica" blued 6/8 SP, that is one if my favorites.
Once your are on speaking terms with them they are easy to maintain - a great choice if you favor a heavier grind.
And I'm going to have to stop by Shaver Hut the next time I am down unda...Support Movember!

I have one Hart in my rotation, I like it and its holding an edge just fine. It's a bit heavy but what can I say, it's a big razor.
