    Default The Admirals

    Hello Folks,

I am new to the forum and to straight razors in general but I have recently and quickly become obsessed with them and their history and craftsmanship. I have never even shaved with one but have decided to amass a small collection. The Admirals is one of my purchases and I got it mainly because of its origin which I find very odd. Why would a razor made in Germany be of Sheffield steel? This seems completely unnecessary to me being that Solingen steel would be presumably a better option for a German razor. Any ideas? Also any background on this razor would be appreciated especially the brand. Is the brand The Admirals?

I have and have had in the past a few razors that were ground in Germany using Sheffield steel, all excellent shavers. Also if you check Dovos are made from Swedish steel.
