Thanked: 522KING COTTON A F Bannister save
I've been wanting to save this blade for several years. Finally finished it. A F Bannister , Newark N J---Back of tang is blank, no stamp. Original scales were tortoise but disintegrated over time. New scales are Grenadille and I decided it would look good with the third pin and roller rest.
It sharpens like a champ and shaves close and smooth on the first pass. Finished on a Coticule.....

Neat, Jerry!
Looks to be a hardware variety. Possibly German-made? Those are always good, it seems!
Do you think the scales were tortoise, or possibly the tortoise/celluloid? That stuff seems to just crumble!Last edited by sharptonn; 07-27-2016 at 01:35 AM.
