    Default "Hamburg hollow ground"?

I was just doing a little research on one of my razors (yes, the one that recently I chipped and subsequently had returned to its former glory by gssixgun) and found it in a scan of an old catalog.

It's a Hibbard, Spencer, and Bartlett 1635 and the catalog refers to it as "Hamburg hollow ground". I haven't run into that term yet. Anyone know what that means? Comparing its profile to my other razors, it looks to be a half hollow.

Here's the site. The razor is helpfully in the top left corner.

Might be referring to the style of grind. More in this thread here ....... http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...burg-ring.html

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
