My Grandfather's Razor?
I shaved yesterday with one of Grampa's razors. It was a beautiful shave, and it will become one of my best shavers.
I am curious as to the brand, as I cannot find it in the list of manufacturers and dates. One side of the Tang says, "J.S Huller & Co., Adolph Blaich, Made in Germany". The other side of the tange has a rooster with a capital "C" on each side of the rooster.
Is anybody familiar with this razor or the manufacturer?
Thanks,
Steve Boyd

I've never heard of the brand but there were so many razor companies back then. Hopefully someone that knows will chime in. I wish my Dad and/or Grandfather had saved his razors. You're quite fortunate there.

I have an A. Blaich. It's a really good shaver although it's not currently in the rotation.

I don't have a razor that belonged to my Grandfather, but I own a small wooden bowl he used to keep shaving soap in. I suspect it was a Yardley, or something like that. My Grandfather was born in 1885, so I'm positive he used a straight razor for at least a time. I'd love to have it!
I also have an old pottery mug (tan/brown Seaforth) that belonged to my late Father. Using those two soap 'holders' is a real treat!
Regards,

I just got word that my mom's husband's dad (may as well be my grandpa) had alot of straight razors. Looks like I'll have to go to my folks place to see what "Alot" means I'm told that I can have the lot as my folks don't shave much.
Kind of excited to see what all is out there
