Default Anyone have info about a razor by John Ingle??

    Hi all,

I recently bought a razor in an antique shop in my local town. Didn't know the maker but it was in good condition and going for £10 so got it. Since then I've had a head ache trying to get info about this guy.

There is nothing on the blade, no jimping, it looks full hollow ground (although I'm not 100% on that), I believe celluloid scales, and the tang says 'John Ingle' 'Upper Allen S.' 'Sheffield' and what looks like a makers mark of 'J T'
    S

I've tried every avenue I can think of but drawn a blank. I'm down to pure speculation now so please, help a brother out!! 😆

Could you post pictures of the razor? A good close-up of the tang and tail will help immensely

I've seen a John Ingle somewhere before. I just can't remember where...

Upper Allen S. is Upper Allen Street, Sheffield, England. So that was his business or forge location.

Aye I got that 😉 I just can't seem to find any records of his operation. I'm wondering If he was a surgeon or other job role? Sheffield archives don't seem to have him anywhere so far 😕

I found an Edward Ingall in my Sheffield directory but no John Ingle. You might try strazers.com.
