    I also take stuff I won't be upset if it goes missing from my checked luggage, and I also pack a few straights in different bags just in case. I'd hate to end up somewhere with all my gear and no razor! I do bring a smaller travel strop, since it fits better in a suitcase.

    Leave it in the razor. I get plenty of shaves from one blade. Never been an issue.

    I guess it must just look like a cartridge razor to them.

    Yep, and it's not really a 'removable' blade.
