    Default McAvity's Special W & B

I'm a collector of all things Saint John New Brunswick where I live. I bought this razor today but I'm not 100 % sure if it was made for T. McAvity & Sons , a long time foundry in my city . I would have thought it would have been made by McAvity with their mark.

    . Any help ?

Most of the razors were made for businesses by the major razor places overseas, i.e. Germany was a large producer of store brand razors rebranded for the ordering company's se. Tc

The local business would have arranged to have his store name etched or stamped onto the blade, adds a little customization, was very common practice at the time.

So absolutely, it was made by W&B and your local NB business was added on....lots of examples of this.

    Can you post any pictures?
