Thread: Thiers-Issard New

Can anyone help me out, recently purchase a new Thiers-Issard full ground singer, and the blade looks terrible. I know that they are not shave ready to the contrary of what the ads say but this blade is not even straight and uneaven across the edge. Is this normal or have I purchased a dud. Any help appreciated.

Everyone's going to want to see pictures, so try to get some posted. I have 3 TIs from different vendors and none were shave ready. No matter, I hone my own anyway. When you say not straight and uneven, this will cause much confusion and conjecture without pictures. Could be all you need is a good hone job. Or the geometry of the blade is really faulty. Hard to tell. There has been some reporting of late about TI razors having geometry issues, though I've had none. Like I say, just may need a good honing.

First welcome to SRP. Definitely doesn't look right, but could be corrected. Heel and toe look odd.Options are to send it to one of the pro-honers here in the classifieds or send it back to vendor. Main thing don't get discouraged.
