    Default Kamisori edge protector

I have seen a few threads on people making stands or scale-like covers to protect their edge on their kamisori.
I was wondering if there are any manufactuers or anyone making scale-like covers to protect the edge, since I don't want to buy an entirely new box to protect it as I have seen.
Is it possible to find scales or protectors to protect the edge of a Kamisori during strorage?

They do make a vinyl zippered cover for the strops. it doesn't quite fit the 90K but gives good protection still. As I recall AFrames sells it.

You may find some possibilities by Googling Kamisori cover:

    Speed-reading strikes again!!!

Either that, or it's because of sleep deprivation. Whatever the reason, Sir 'Spendur missed the mark .

Without going into great detail, to protect the edge in transit, fold and make a small slip cover using old playing card stock, King of Hearts, Joker etc. Or Manila folder stock paper cut to size and folded properly. I have honed and shipped many and it’s cheap and works well enough. Similar to attached example.

Good example. That's not a bad idea. One issue, IMO, would be the difference in design when applying that method to a kamisori. The SE utility blades, with the bracket opposite the edge provides a lip to stop the cardstock from making contact with the edge. My idea for a "quick & dirty" solution would be to put an appropriately sized rubber band on the blade body, from tip to shoulder. Am I making sense? I'm sleep deprived as well...

Depending on shape of the Kami, you might not even need the rubber band. I'll shut up now, before I start to ramble.

Strategically placed staples can do wonders for custom sized sutures, er kamisoris. Get creative. Origami for your Kami.

The one that Feather makes for their Kamisori conveniently fit mine. I know all blades vary but I got lucky.
