Default Filarmonica Doble Temple 13 or a J.A. Henckels Twinworks 72 1/2 ?? which one to buy?

I'm looking at these razors so I can say I have a razor everyone will talk about. Also as a reward for getting through the pain I have been in the past 2 days. (btw, which was very tough), last night was one of the longest I have spent in pain. Time just Dragged on. I'm looking for one that is a half hollow to quarter hollow. Thanks.

Henckels "v" models are heavy grinds. I like both of your options but they are your choice.

Well you have picked a really tough choice, however, I think the best bang for your buck will be Henckels. Neither of those choices incidentally are 1/2 or a 1/4 hollow. Henckels did make a 72V as already stated, which is a 1/4 hollow.

The 72 1/2 is a nice roundpoint razor. I have a 72 and a 72V and both are superb. The DT 13 is a great razor as well, just make sure it is stamped Jose Monserrat Pou, otherwise you will run the risk of poor quality.

RezDog is 100% correct that $ for $ you will get a far better value with the Henckels (or at least you are more likely to find that value from a good seller). The Filis go for a hefty premium these days.

Shave-wise, they are on the same level in my opinion. I have a copy of both.

Filarmonica Medalon Taurino has a 1/4 Hollow version.
Henkels Friodur 72V and 11-V are the 1/4 hollow models of that company.

The regular Filli DT #13 and Friodur 72, 472, 72.5, 472.5 are all half follow

All of the above are superb razors.

I would go for the Henckels. Personally, I haven't found the Filarmonica appealing and for the price people are asking, I can really get a few nice ones.

But is a matter of your choice and what you like. I'm sure whichever you pick is going to make you happy, and that's all it matters.

I have the Filarmonica Taurino and it is a superb, heavy razor that never fails to make me have a great shaving experience, it is superb.

I'd go for the henkels. But I'm kinda cheap. I would suggest looking around at some of both options and see if one doesn't jump out at you. when I'm looking to spend a little extra on something nice I do a lot of looking around. There's always a lot that I'd like to have, but eventually when I see the right one, I'll know it right away.
