Thanked: 2are there any more like this set out there?
First off...Hello everyone on this forum!! You guys are awesome!! Seems one cannot search a single thing about a razor related topic without getting directed to SRP....Although I just joined as a newbie, I've been taking advice from you for a long while now....lots of knowledge floating around this site that is super useful to people in the str8 razor community!! Now, for my question....I have a gorgeous Joseph Rogers and Sons seven day set with the separate day etched blades and single ivory scaled snap-lock handle. I will try my best to post pics....and my problem is that I have only one set and three wonderful sons!! I wish to pass this one down and don't want to start a squabble- is this a set that can still be found and purchased? Maybe two more times? Any information you guys have on this topic will be super helpful!! Also, if anyone knows any specifics on this set, please educate me!! I know a little history on Rogers but can't find a single thing on these except one picture online at ST Razors website- I'm scared he has the only other surviving set known to man!!?? Again, thank you for having the biggest bank of razor intellect out there, and thank you for having me on this forum!! I hope I'm able to give some back as you guys have given to me!!!!

That is a marvelous set. Pretty sure there might be additional sets roaming around but, if so, at a hefty price. Admirable to want to leave a set for each son. But before you drive yourself over the cliff in your endeavor consider the fact that there might be other sets by different makers. Since each son is different than the other, no matter what a parent thinks, ease your mind with seeking similar sets by different makers for each son. In the process you will become even more knowledgeable than you think in recognizing and enjoying vintage razors.

Wow! What an exceptional set! And an exceptional endeavor, as well. I wish you luck.
I like Razorfeld's advice. "Similar" gifts would represent the relationship of family; and the uniqueness of each set nurtures individuality. If you can find a way to have a certain aspect/feature of the differing sets to be cohesive, or copacetic, to each son (or if they each take a shining to a different set): that would probably make them an even more meaningful & cherished gift!
I hope that last part made sense, my attention span is in the waning end of the night... so I am now going to juggle the following three tasks: razor restoration, video games, making a homemade dremel (with homemade flexshaft) out of random scrap appliances I've got laying around, and looking up live/in-person razor auctions to post on this forum for the benefit of other members.
Oh, and Welcome to the forum!!!Decades away from full-beard growing abilities.

Yeah, I've got a set like that. Mine were made by Charles Macdaniels, a London based cutler around 1830. I've got a blade missing from my set. I bought mine not that long ago on ebay. They pop up from time to time. There's a set listed for sale at the moment. A little pricey but certainly a nice looking set.

Nice set. Welcome to SRP. I've seen other sets like that by Rodgers, Wade & Butcher, other Sheffield makers of the period. Goof luck with the hunt ........
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

They are around. I have a nearly identical Rodgers 4-razor set. Look in the 'Gentleman's set' razor club. Some shown there as well

Very nice set. As others have said these come up from time to time. Usually go for around $300-700 I would say. I think I've seen maybe 5 or so a year go through ebay. Many makers from Sheffield to London to France made these.
