Default I may have created a monster!!

Some of you may know, I recently purchased an Edwin Jagger Purple DE for my wife. She loves it. So much, SHE's been researching razors (something about Pintrest!!! I don't know what the heck that is. But apparently, it's the SRP for women...except it's for anything and everything!)

Anyway, one night she says, out of the blue,

Her: "Did you know Gillette made a womens razor?"

me: "Yes, it's called the Lady Gillette."

Her: "I'd like to have one, because it's a TTO! That's 'Twist To Open' ((she literally said those exact words!)) It has silo doors, instead of a 3 piece design." (("Silo doors....3 piece design?!?!?!?!" Obviously, Pintrest is more than just pictures!!))

Me: "Yes, honey! I know what TTO stands for! That's what my Krona is."

Her: "But this is a Gillette not a Schick." ((Dang! Now she knows different brands AND models!!!))

Anyway, you know the rest of the story:

Here's her 'new' 1964 Gillette Lady Gillette, complete with paperwork. ((Thank God for eBay...and the fact the owner didn't want 2 arms and a 1/2 of leg for it !! Less than $20, to my door. 'happy wife....' er, you know the rest!))

As a side note: She's been eyeing my Rolls Razor. I doubt she's got the balls to try a Single!

Well done! Now, I guess you'll have no complaints when you want to purchase any new shaving gear!

    lol.

Fortunately, I have never had her balk at anything I purchase! ((Shake her head...but not balk))

Main reason, unlike 99% of the rest of the world, 'she has her $, I have my $, she has her 'honey, soap, lip balm biz $', I have my 'gun shop, gunsmith biz $' and we have the farm's $." If she wants to buy a new pair of shoes or whatever...it comes out of her $. If I want to buy a new guitar, gun or razor...it comes out of my $. I pay the farm bills out of 'the farm' $. As long as everything is paid for, we both have 'our $.'

It seems that 99% of arguments stem from money (regardless of who thinks they don't...money, or lack thereof, is a huge stress factor in a relationship). 'Our way', if she spends her money on a "..." and is broke 2 days after payday, so be it. Same goes for me.

17+yrs together and we still get along just fine. Must be doin' somethin' right!

((As a side note: We both make nearly the same amount, at our 'real jobs' (most don't) and our kids are raised and out of the home.)) The 'real test' comes in 6yrs, when I retire and she still has another 7yrs left.

Wish I had known. Have several of those around. Lasted a few months with one daughter, a month or so with the wife, and the other 2 daughters would not try them...

I tried one..Shaved nicely on my face. Did not do the other spots!

    Long handle was nice.

    AcesandEights,

Great post. Wild Bill himself couldn't have written it better.

Women know skin. When I have a skin question, the FIRST person I'll ask is my girlfriend. She got me dialed in to Fusion. She knows all things skin. And, surprisingly, she knows shaving and hair removal. So if she were to tell me a shaving related fact, I'd listen.

Hopefully, she doesn't go down the deep hole with soaps and aftershave lotions. She may end up stocking up. And if she ever discovers the world of brushes, who knows.... she might as for a Simpson Chubby 2 in Manchurian badger.
