    I'm a bit curious too...
    Are there any other options to those clunky wedge-chunk scales? It'd be nice to be able to just buy the blade!

    Yeah I have one with African Ebony scales, it's really nice and a very good shaver. Only negative point is the pivot keeps coming loose (it's removable) so I need to put a dab of thread locking compound on the screw.

    It shaved pretty nice out of the box, I haven't tried honing it yet but being carbon steel I can't see it being a problem.

    Definately worth the money IMO.
