Frederick Reynolds with a modified tang?
It's a Frederick Reynolds Sheffield.
I got this from the bay. I am a bit worried about the "Manufactured" text being cut on the top. Was the tang modified?
Do yo think it's worth repairing? The weight feels great!

Thanked: 634I think it is just the stamp is off alignment. I have seen too many vintage razors like that to think the tang was modified. Sometimes on a W & B the B in circle part of the logo is half there because of the shape of the tang.

Thanked: 4827My only concern would be be careful to preserve what is there. Stamps are often a little off, kind of like me.

If it were mine I'd give it a good cleaning, honing and shave with her. FR's are one of the finest Sheffield razors you will find. Most are very hard to hone but once the edge is established they hold that edge for a long time giving fantastic shaves.
