Unsucessful Hunt for Scales
So for the past week I have been searching Ebay trying to find the right scales for my Henckels (I bought it with cracked scales but it is now my favorite shave so it needs to be perdy). I figured that would be okay because I can go hunting in the antique shops when I visit my fiance's family. Unfortunately, the only razor I could find with interesting scales was priced $175. This was an unknown brand that had sigificant hone wear on the blade and just happened to have a nice set of scales. Can you imagine that? Has anyone else noticed that Str8s at antique shops are either way over priced or way under priced?

Depends on where you shop. Get one of the fine gentlemen here to whip up a set of scales for you. I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Thanked: 5agreed, custom scales will cost significantly less than what you are looking at and be exactly what you want. joe chandler/robert williams/gary make some absolutely drool worthy scales for something like $40.00 (don't quote me on that)

I kind of want to match a nice set of scales to the blade to make it look original. I may just give up and make some myself. I can be patient, but I won't wait forever.
