    Default Christmas mystery

Got this razor as a Christmas present. Giver doesn't know much about razors. Neither do I. Couldn't find much on it searching myself so time to hit up the experts.

What's on the other side? Does it say anything about where the steel came from (Sheffield, Solingen)?

Looks like there is something etched on the blade too.

A great big stab in the dark here. How about the possibility that John Gibbons was a cutler in Westport County Mayo Ireland and sold razors among other things. That is going by the etching on the blade which seems Irish to me.

Interesting, Westport, and Croagh Patrick mountain are both in Mayo county Ireland. An Irish razor made by John Gibbons.

BobH and I found the place in southern Ireland. It is a holy site.
