Thread: Hinckels numbers ?

I reciently got a henckels #8 in a small lot of razors that is in pretty good shape. So I figure I'll see about getting it shave ready.

My question is about the numbers on the tang, What do they represent? Is it just a model number? Or is there something else going on there?

I still have not been able to get my hands on any books that have dates and info yet. So I'm stuck asking questions here that may be common knoweledge.

based on what i see with the dovo numbers, my best guess are that they are model numbers

Those numbers are kinda cryptic (in my experience) but I believe there are some websites that explain them (don't have the links handy at the moment).

That would be cool if anyone had the links. I like the feel of the Hinckels but it is resisting my efforts to hone it... bugger...
