Saw this on the bay.Being the grind and size that I prefer.
As well as from a Baltimore barber supply company that existed from 1870's to early 1900's. (Brief google search)
Glad I won it at a very reasonable price.
This is a very well made. Although plain razor. It has very slight, even hone wear. Sits flat on the hones. The condition of the edge was good enough that I began at 4K-8K Norton. Finished on the G20K. Took very little time to get it ready.
It is right in there quality wise, with all of my other vintage razors. Robeson, Burrell, Otto Busch, Gold Rex, Griffon etc.
Mr. Coates' choice for who to put his name and reputation on the line with must have been taken with care. He knew his trade and good razors. My $.02 Ken
