Default Colibri, Kreuz & Schild, Halfmann razors from a flea market

Hi, this is my first post here.

I've just started collecting straights. I've already got a few razors, they were picked up by my grandfather on some flea markets.

If someone could enlighten me with some info about these razors, i would be very grateful.

The razors I've got are a Colibri No. 70 (with the original case), a Kreuz & Schild (Cross & Shield) with the inscriptions Feinster Silber Stahl (Finest Silver Steel) and a Halfmann Special.

I'm sorry for butting in when I have no knowledge about the companies who made these razors, but from the pictures, I can tell you have some STELLAR razors. They look absolutely gorgeous! Do yourself a favor... if you want to start straight shaving and don't have honing experience, send them to Lynn Abrams, (adjustme69 is his handle), and put them to work. If you don't want to shave with them, then sell them to me!!!!

    There's a little information here:

Those are indeed some gems. I don't know if they're very valuable, but they'd make awesome shavers. There's at least some kind of a market for them around here.

I have an almost identical Colibri razor. Only difference is my gold wash is gone. These razors take a very good edge as well as being nicely made

I'd agree that your grandfather is indeed a gentleman with a good eye.

I shudder to imagine what my old man would come how with if i asked him to go bye me a second hand razor.
