Default Other prominent kamisori makers besides Iwasaki?

I have an Iwasaki kamisori that I LOVE, but the expense is certainly a factor in getting another one in a slightly different size or steel. Can anyone suggest other premium kamisori manufacturers that might be a bit cheaper? Also, does anyone know how to contact the Iwasaki company? I can only find retailers and no links for the company itself. Thanks.

Yes. There were a lot. The one that comes to mind right away is Tanifuji. There are quite a few threads on Japanese blade smiths. There are a few guys here that have pretty nice Japanese razor collections.

You can also find some great kamisori here. Interesting gentleman and some excellent razors.

Azuma and New Azuma are respected names and good shavers. Assure that the blade is not honed out. Become familiar with the shape of new Wa Kamisori.

Great, thanks. Does anyone know if Iwasaki has a website?

Don't think so. He is pretty much regarded as a maker rather than a retailer.

That's like asking for bill Gates phone number to purchase a new computer. There's that and the fact he doesn't make razors anymore, his apprentice has taken over. Anything you find that was made by him is going to be vintage. Someone please let me know if im wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's accurate. I've owned many iwasaki razors and did lots of research, but it's been a while.
