I know almost nothing about this razo but thought some people here would like to see it and perhaps we can all get a small amount further education from yet another example

Little late to the game here, but a nice example of a "Ground on a 4-inch stone" razor from Wade. It has also "Ne Plus Ultra" on the top of the spine.

    Killer find!

1790's, very minimal wear for it's style and age, almost complete scales (just missing that one washer on the pivot). Oughta shave like a champ!

My WOLF razor is one of my favorites to shave with, and it's reliably smooth.

And not a nicer guy as far as helping with research on old razors. He, ScienceGuy and Thaeris probably have the finest 19th Century examples of razors that can be found outside of a museum.

How about..... Kirkby Warranted???? The scales on this one were put on by the person I purchased the razor from, obviously not originals. blade shape, convex tang might suggest this blade fits the 1820s, maybe a bit later?
A quick search resulted in these Kirkby candidates from sheffield:
    Kirkby, Mary (, cutler).
    Address: Brinswort's Orchard, in 1787.
Recorded in: Gales & Martin Directory of Sheffield - 1787
    Kirkby, John (, Merchant).
    Address: Stanton Broom, in 1837.
Recorded in: Whites Directory of Sheffield & Rotherham - 1837
Kirkby, Joseph (, merchants (& Son)).
    Address: West Street, in 1833.
Recorded in: Whites History & Directory of Sheffield - 1833
Kirkby, Joseph & Son (, razor manufacturer).
Address: 124 Rockingham Street, Sheffield in 1846.
Recorded in: Slaters 1846 Directory, Sheffield.
Kirkby, S & W (, merchants and silver fruit knife manufacturers).
Address: Eyre Lane, Sheffield in 1825.
Recorded in: Gells 1825 Directory of Sheffield.
    Kirkby, Samuel (, merchant).
    Address: Grove house, in 1825.
Recorded in: Gells 1825 Directory of Sheffield

Kirkby, Samuel (, cutler & victualler).
    Address: Lambert Croft, in 1787.
Recorded in: Gales & Martin Directory of Sheffield - 1787.
